2 Corinthians 4:16
6 Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.

I wonder how many of us quite often feel discouraged; feel disheartened? I am pretty sure that every single person experiences these thoughts at some point in their lives and this can by far happen on many occasions. I know this is also true for myself and therefore am by no means exempt!
I will give a short analogy here. There may be times where perhaps we may post stuff in groups or on Facebook; Instagram; twitter/X etc or even in physical home-groups; Bible study groups or even prayer meetings. Where we can, what may feel like at times are being constantly corrected because we are perhaps posting false information – in this particular instance I am talking about situations that we are told are going on in this world which we thought were true but then we find out this is actually the complete opposite.
This is where the first part of the above Bible verse comes into play where we are commanded (Yes, literally commanded) to not lose heart. In other words, do not become disheartened. This is one of many commands that all of us needs to take on board. If we become constantly discouraged, then we can be dragged down. This is were being amongst solid Bible Believing Christians is valid. This is where we can encourage one another; whereby we can grow spiritually.
The more we grow then the more we mature. The more we mature – the more we develop discernment in the knowledge of His (God’s Living Word) where we can begin to recognise deceiving spirits and/or anything else that is not of God. This again is where I stress the importance of Bible Study and of being in His Word daily.
The Bible is our daily food where we get fed spiritually. Unless we get rooted in His Word we will die. Food sustains us on a daily basis, and we need food to help sustain us and to keep our bodies healthy. The same applies to our spiritual body too where unless we feed ourselves in His Word on a daily basis to the point, we become rooted in His Living Truth – then just like our physical body, we will become sick and eventually die if we don’t take good care of ourselves. We must keep ourselves rooted in His Living Water – the water of life which is found only in Jesus Christ. We must keep ourselves embedded in the truth of His Word and to feed from that Living Water of our precious Saviour Jesus Christ.
