It has been quite some time since I have added a Sunday Devotional but here we are doing the things!
I am sitting here with the sun streaming through my window and it is actually warmish but still a little cold which one would expect for the month of October and for some of us being in full flow of Autumn now.
Actually it is ironic that my last and only Sunday Musing Blog Post was done a year almost to the day. So, here we are yet again in this month of October where I desire to share some thoughts along with encouragement if I may – so, let us get into this blog post together shall we – good so, let’s go:
The darkness in this world now is going through the roof and it is. Also between this year to today – so much has happened along with further changes in this crazy world and believe you me changes certainly not for the better let me put this record straight now. The war on Israel is still going on along with the hostages still not having been released but may this change and within the next few days – seriously may this happen. We are also virtually on the eve of the two year commemoration of October 7th 2023 and it has been insane seriously so, where for one, anti-semitism has gone through the roof and escalated big time in more ways than one. This is where I am sadly having to be cautious with my words as I am not allowed to mention what is happening in various nations globally but the picture is far from pretty mark my words here as again this is – Actual fact.
Once again, I will state that this blog post is not going to be centred around the war on Israel nor on events that are happening at a rate of knots including a.i. along with digital i.d. and it just gets worse and worse but as I mentioned I really am refrained from talking about these topics for fear of being considered going against the grain and giving out mis-information – but:
- Would I seriously say anything that would cause others to throw their hands up in shock, horror?
- Would I seriously be that impertinent to step on other’s toes and to speak up and to be a voice in this darkness?
- Would I seriously have the audacity to voice “my” opinions and to cause friction along with anger to so many who would prefer for me instead to walk quietly along a beach keeping my head down and to remain silent as well as to “mind my own business”?
- Would I seriously be bold and outspoken enough to share the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ to others who would much prefer for me to keep “my” opinions to “myself” and how dare I share the name of Jesus – oh my goodness me, seriously, HOW DARE I
- Naughty girl and shame on me to even consider speaking and sharing on any of the above so perhaps I should be sent to Coventry instead – if you know what I mean by that last statement then believe you me, if you know – THEN YOU KNOW!!
So, as someone who has been called out numerous times for being “black and white” with no grey areas and also for someone who is considered to be “outspoken”:
- has this deterred me from continuing to be a voice in the darkness;
- has this deterred me from speaking up for both truth along with righteousness;
- has this deterred me from shining the light of Jesus Christ in a world both black and consumed with hatred; consumed with lies upon lies and more and more lies;
- has this deterred me from having that boldness of Jesus Christ or has this literally made me cower into a corner; to be timid; to be afraid or is this “me” deliberately on purpose with intent to cause disharmony along with friction and all the above bullet points under the previous paragraph hoping that “I would be to others perhaps (stupid enough to get “myself” caught and possibly silenced),
WOULD I SERIOUSLY DARE TO BE THAT OBNOXIOUS – oh my goodness me, HEAVEN FORBID. that would be the case!!
Time to knock off above sarcasim
Ok, back to reality now though the above whilst being full of sarcasm sadly does have a lot of truth in those statements and it is so sad that I even have to state this but the reality now is that speaking out in truth and righteousness SERIOUSLY – does go against the grain!
You know as both a Believer and Follower of Jesus Christ where for the majority of us we have not known persecution for taking a stand for both righteousness and truth especially in The West but now – there is persecution and it is happening which we are seeing all around us. As I stated in the previous blog post – HERE that persecution does not mean Christians being martyred for their faith or being seriously harmed physically and being thrown into jail – no there are other types of persecution taking place which for many would not see this as persecution but would see these as merely trials. This is not the case – PERIOD
You see, Jesus Christ Himself warned us as both Believers and Followers of Jesus Christ that we would expect persecution for taking a stand for Him and this is stated throughout God’s Written Word. For those who make the declaration of faith to hand their lives over to Jesus Christ and believe that your lives are now going to be so “silky smooth” and/or “hunky dory” – NO AND NO AND NO. This is not what Jesus promised us at all and again this is ABSOLUTE TRUTH
Do Take Note Of The Following:
Matthew 24:9 (NIV) “Then they will hand you over to be persecuted and killed, and you will be hated by all nations because of me” Also note that Jesus predicts of widespread hate and violence against followers of Jesus Christ
Mark 13:13 (NIV) “You will be hated by everyone for my name. But the one who stands firm to the end will be saved”. This is why I keep stressing about needing to persevere to the end in the midst of trials along with tribulations and persecution
2 Timothy 3:1 (NKJV) “But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come”. Jesus states the obvious of increased difficulties along with challenges for Believers in Jesus Christ
Revelation 2:10 (NKJV) “Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life”.
We are as Believers and Followers of Jesus Christ called to be faithful yet again in the face of animosity and of hate even when “our lives” are on the line
IT IS NOT YOU THAT IS HATED BUT THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST THAT PEOPLE CAN’T STAND
Remember the above please as both Believers and Followers of Jesus Christ. This is where a line from a pop song from the 80s comes to mind which I do not suggest you take on board. The underlying tones of this line which is this: “If you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen” – meaning in other words – if you don’t believe you can take any persecution and animosity etc because of the name of Jesus Christ, then don’t hand over your life to Jesus Christ I STRONGLY URGE YOU TO DO THE EXACT OPPOSITE AND TO HAND YOUR LIVES OVER TO JESUS
This was not where I was going to go with the blog post today and in fact, I have no idea where I was heading. As usual though, I started typing and the words just started flowing so here you have it. I am going to end with these words Don’t put off tomorrow what you can do today – MEANING hand your life over to Jesus TODAY as in:
LIKE NOW – MEANING TODAY
