Being Still |Being Quiet |When You Believe

Learning to be still and quiet – resting in the precious arms of Jesus – just taking time to spend in His glorious written Word in the early hours of the morning when it is pitch black outside, but all is cosy and warm in my home. Sitting here by candlelight and just enjoying the silence that surrounds me – it is both peaceful, tranquil and so blissfully quiet.
Enjoying the beauty of this quiet morning with a cup of coffee and His Word open on my lap – I so love these early hours to just sit and to just be still and to reflect on all the amazing things that Abba Father has done and is continuing to do in my own life. The amazing blessings that He has bestowed on me which I don’t deserve. His goodness and His absolute amazing grace through which I am saved. The knowledge of being wrapped up in His warm embrace when reading through His Word is so special and a time that I love – these times that are so precious, no one can take these times sitting at the feet of my Heavenly Father away from me.
No matter what this world we are living in throws our way – the promises of His Word will remain steadfast deep within my heart. The amazing truth of who I am in Him that by His grace I am saved, and this knowledge alone is nothing but WOW – “You did this for me when I am so undeserving”. It is also knowing that I am His daughter; a child of the Living God – nothing can beat this – NOTHING.
With all of the years that I thought I had wasted but in actual fact were not wasted at all because as I have stated before, Abba Father knew all about me before I was born. Every single hair on my head was numbered – another WOW factor.
It is knowing that no matter what I have done in my life which has been a car crash – He knew everything, every single tiny minute detail but He knew that one day I would truly come running to Him and knowing that He has welcomed me with open arms as a loving father does to His children. His total amazing grace that He alone has bestowed on me. Knowing that Abba Father is both the Author and Finisher of my faith and how I long for the day of His Return. His grace which is all sufficient; all powerful and all knowing. His gift of life that He has given me will remain with me for the rest of my life and into eternity when I get to see Him face to face; to worship Him at His feet and to be with all of my brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ – as we get to live a life that will be completely whole in Him. We will not just walk but run; we will dance before Him singing – all of us together in perfect harmony worshipping the One who gave us life beyond our wildest hopes and dreams – the life that ONLY HE sacrificed for each one of us. Again, His amazing grace of which we are saved by faith – His grace is enough.
Earlier this morning – the following song came to mind and this song I had listened to last night. The profound words resonate with me and are so powerful and so very true – this is a beautiful song. This song was written for the film The Prince of Egypt which was an adaptation of the first fourteen chapters of the Book of Moses.
When You Believe is sung in the film mainly by Miriam and Tzipporah in an attempt to reassure Moses in the aftermath of the tenth plague and to make sense of and rejoice in their newfound freedom. They recall tough times that have caused them to question their faith; they have prayed for many nights to God, but those prayers had seemed to remain unanswered. Nevertheless, they realize that although the times may be difficult, their faith should remain strong. The scene is overlayed with Hebrews emerging from their homes after the plagues, being free for the first time. The song is then sung by a chorus of Hebrews as they depart from Egypt and embark on the Exodus, eventually ending up at the Red Sea prior to the parting of the Red Sea
The original draft of the song used the lyric “you can do miracles when you believe”, but this seemed to imply that the believer, not God, was responsible for performing miracles; the lyric was later changed to “there can be miracles when you believe”.
You have to be a child of God to understand the beauty and importance of this song – as the lyrics describe the ability each person has to achieve miracles when you reach out to God and to not only believe in Him but to hand your whole life over to Him. . “Ashira l’Adonai” means “I will sing to the Lord”. The phrase is inspired by the story of Miriam and the women of Israel celebrating a great victory. It serves as a reminder that the same God who led the Israelites across the Red Sea is still alive and working very much so today.

As I come to the end of this blog post – may you find hope in the ONLY GOD OF ISRAEL who is Our Heavenly Father who loved us so much that He sent His One and Only Son to give us His life so that we might live. Our hope is found in Jesus and ONLY in Him. His love so unique and so incredibly amazing of which through Him we have hope; we have a hope of life living with Him eternally of which through no one else is there the gift of salvation and I do mean NO ONE ELSE. Jesus who laid down His life for us; a life that we can know, that without a shadow of a doubt – that He truly reigns within our hearts. It is this knowledge of knowing that Jesus is Our Rock no matter what this crazy upside-down world throws in our direction – for He TRULY is the Giver and Author of our lives. So, I urge you if you don’t know Jesus Christ as Lord of Your Life to not just believe in Him but to hand over Your life to Him for He truly does both care and love you beyond any other love that anyone else can give.
When you believe
Many nights we prayed
With no proof, anyone could hear
In our hearts a hope for a song
We barely understood
Now we are not afraid
Although we know there’s much to fear
We were moving mountains
Long before we knew we could
There can be miracles
When you believe
Though hope is frail, it’s hard to kill
Who knows what miracles you can achieve?
When you believe, somehow you will
You will when you believe
In this time of fear
When prayer so often proves in vain
Hope seems like the summer bird
Too swiftly flown away
Yet now I’m standing here
My hearts so full, I can’t explain
Seeking faith and speakin’ words
I never thought I’d say
There can be miracles
When you believe
Though hope is frail, it’s hard to kill
Who knows what miracles you can achieve?
When you believe, somehow you will
You will when you believe
They don’t always happen when you ask
And it’s easy to give in to your fears
But when you’re blinded by your pain
Can’t see the way, get through the rain
A small but still, resilient voice
Says, help is very near
There can be miracles
When you Believe
Though hope is frail
It’s hard to kill
Who knows what miracles
You can achieve
When you believe somehow you
kNow,
You will when you
Believe
You will when you
Believe
Just believe
Just believe
You will when you
Believe
