Do you ever take time to rest
To simply pause; stop; reflect
Or do you work day & night
Reality hidden far from sight
What is your purpose
What is your aim
Are you running on empty
With nothing to gain
Are you in fight or flight mode
Perhaps being left in the cold
Or even simply chasing your tail
Do you feel even doomed to fail
Life’s purpose deems lost
You are now counting the cost
Reality is way out of reach
Playing Life’s game of hide & seek
Is this your way of self destruction
Losing touch; hopes of malfunction
Fear is playing havoc with your mind
With nowhere to run; nowhere to hide
So tired of endless games
Desperate to pull in the reigns
Tell me what do you hope to gain
On life’s merry go round train
Needing to seek safety & solace
Leaving a world so void of promise
What is the point; what do you do
Where do you go when feeling blue
The answer is work thats non stop
But growing tired; your ready to flop
Work is best; not caring to rest
Yet patience is being put to the test
Aware you have loved ones suffering
Like a moth in darkness; your’e fluttering
Becoming disoriented; frantic; fragile
Your life feels nothing but facile
Is it to late to take stock; to stop
Or are you ready to pop
Wanting to leave this world behind
Where everything is now a huge bind
Needing to think; take time to refocus
This isn’t a game of “hocus pocus”
There are lives at stake; take a break
Put family first; for goodness sake
Work will grind you to the ground
Whereas family won’t always be around
I beg you shift your mind set
Time to chill out; time to rest
You know the drill; this is insane
Get off the wrong road; take the right lane
With nothing to lose; everything to gain
Quit pouring your life down the drain
Take a good look at your goals
Looking deep inside your soul
Turn away from a life self absorbent
Refocus on what’s most important
