We live lives that are never ending circles
With ups and downs and plenty of hurdles
Its twists and turns; burnout and confusion
Just wandering around; no end of delusion
Where we end up in exactly the same places
Not willing to implement any new changes
Chasing tails, on this merry go round trail
Feeling helpless; knowing we have failed
In this destructive cycle that has no end
Feelings of defeat; going round the bend
We carry on in this nonsensical pattern
Hopes and dreams hence being flattened
This chaos; apparent to others around us
But still, we choose to carry on regardless
Not willing to listen, closing our ears
To the fact this will soon end in tears
What will it take, with so much at stake
Stop this cycle of never-ending mistakes
Intensity raging; endless complaining
Why O why is nothing plain sailing
You’re falling apart; in this world so dark
Empty & stark; with a heart just like glass
Unable to think; to the ground you sink
dreams now dashed before you can blink
crying out in despair; in sheer terror
burdens no longer as light as a feather
what do you do, who do you turn too
what next; however, you haven’t a clue
hearing a voice, calling your name
all you do, is huddle further in shame
closing your eyes; putting on a disguise
your mind going back to continuous lies
ashamed; so bereft; broken; so very alone
fearing the future; scared of the unknown
hearing your name; with tears still falling
looking up, once again hope starts soaring
is this; could this possibly be; surely not
feeling faint; for a second your heart stops
your eyes widen, with a look of unbelief
His eyes of compassion; no sign of grief
Reaching out; taking hold of your hand
This man full of love, who understands
He wipes your tears of shame and guilt
Unable to move; you sit so perfectly still
This is Your Saviour, Your friend indeed
handing Him your life on bended knees
Lifting your hands in worship & praise
promising to honour Him, all your days
