Not as perfect as what is seen to come across!!
My life is far from perfect; I literally mean far from perfect; I don’t do everything right let alone do I make out to be someone that I am not; On this note I make mistakes every single day of my life and this dear reader goes for every single person alive or who has left this earth. There is only one sinless person ever to have lived who was none other than Jesus Christ – pure and simple fact!
I am sure there are plenty of folk who think that because:
- I dress modestly
- I don’t swear
- Hate any vulgarity
- Hate getting caught up in gossip or slander
- This list goes on and on and on!
That I deem to be “holier than thou” – where in actual fact, the total absolute opposite is the case. I am only too well aware of how short I fall meaning I sin every day and most of the time it is unknowingly but there are times that sadly I do sin meaning – in my speech or getting caught up in gossip at times whereby as soon as I know I have done wrong, my heart is full of remorse. This is where I need to get before Abba Father and cry out to Him to repent and to ask for His forgiveness.
I do not pretend to be someone I am not and why would I – because not only would I be lying to those around me but also to God which is neither good or acceptable in any shape or form. This brings to mind a Bible verse which states the following:
Psalm 139:4
4 For there is not a word on my tongue, But behold, O Lord, You know it altogether and also:
God knows us inside and out; He knows our innermost being He knows our thoughts – so, on this note, He knows every single word we think; say or do; He knows everything about us and every tiny minute detail. He knew everything we would think; say or do before He even formed us in our Mothers Womb – I would highly recommend reading the whole of the text which is in the beautiful precious Psalm 139.
This and other Bible verses which also speak of similar statements should get us to think before we act in any form; we should think wisely and choose our words carefully. Do we always get this right – nope; we don’t which is where the gift of forgiveness comes in, however, this also does not mean that as Believers in Jesus Christ that this gives us the right to say; do or act in any manner that is not pleasing to God; this does not give us the right to freely sin because if this is how we live our lives in this manner – then let me tell you now, we are going to become very unstuck. This is also where choice comes into play. Sadly, there are too many folks that believe that giving our lives to Jesus gives us the right to carry on as if we are still in the world – again, nope this is not the case.
Living a life of obedience to God
Once we have given our lives to Jesus – we are called to live a life of Holiness. We are called to live a life according to how God commands us to live; we do not have the freedom any longer to live as I mentioned earlier, as the world does. Once we are sons and daughters of the Living God – we are commanded to walk in His grace; to walk in truth and to walk in light.
The above is how we are to choose to live – because we are a new creation in Jesus Christ, we are to live in obedience. As the above words state obedience changes everything – friends, this is not a choice – this is a command – a literal command. We are to live lives that are Holy and pleasing to God. This is not about doom and gloom – this is beautiful to live according to His will. His will and plans for our lives are perfect through and through. Not only are we are to live as He has commanded us to live; but we are to walk in a manner that is fitting for us as princes and princesses of the Living King meaning Jesus Christ.
Our lives are not our own!
We were bought with a price; we were bought with the highest cost. By the way I am talking about everyone world-wide; not just Christians but everyone. God loved us first, enough to send His Only Begotten Son to die on the cross at Calvary for each and every single person whether alive or no longer alive. Remember this please. Remember that despite what many may think about God and why terrible situations happen on this earth – this was and is not His choice – I REPEAT THIS WAS AND IS NOT HIS CHOICE – FACT!!
GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE SENT HIS ONLY SON
We have a Heavenly Father who loves us; each of us unconditionally. He who through His Son Jesus Christ, we have everlasting life; we are promised eternity in heaven – heaven being an amazing place to commune with Our Heavenly Father 24/7 for the rest of our lives. Life is a gift; Life is incredibly precious – so I urge you please to hand your life over to Jesus before it is too late – time is drawing to a close and now is the time to give Him your heart. Now is the time to turn away from sin and to repent of everything that you have done in your life that goes against God. There seriously is no time to waste.
A small personal testimony
By rights I should be in hell or if not there then on my way there. My life has been an absolute roller coaster of a ride; a rollercoaster of a journey where I have messed up big time. I have messed up in all kinds of ways and not only that I spent too many years to count “playing at Church”; “playing at Christianity”. I won’t list all of the areas of my own life where has been a corundum of events as quite frankly there are too many situations/circumstances to count. Throwing into the mix the copious occasions where I have attempted suicide – the times whereby I have almost died – hence my statement of “I should be in Hell”.
Praise God though that is no longer the case, because I made a commitment to Jesus on 30th November 2018 when I was visiting friends in America and then I made a re-commitment on July 26th 2022 – where the start of changes in my life started taking place. Even though the beginnings of a shift in my life began to take place, this was a gradual process and is still ongoing. However, I would say around the beginning of March ’24 is when The Holy Spirit seriously started working in my heart evermore – with my realising that wrong choices I had made throughout my life could no longer continue – therefore by God’s grace and His grace alone have I seen a turnaround in areas regarding certain behaviour trates as well as changing old habits/ attitudes. It is not just about changing the choices we make but it is MORE ABOUT BEING OBEDIENT TO GOD!!
On top of this studying and starting to understand The Bible in more context. But more importantly seriously loving not only reading but studying The Bible as a whole – this is such a joy to me and a huge blessing.
So, with all this said
John 3:16
16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
Pinpointing precisely how many religions there are in the world today is next to impossible, although some estimate the number exceeds 4,000. [latest research on June 13, 2024.]
All of these are FALSE and don’t lead you to heaven. Believing in Jesus Christ is not ‘a religion’. It’s trusting God who sent Him to die for our sins & rose again. That’s victory over sin, death & eternal perdition.
I am not asking you to embrace Christianity. I am asking you to repent & ask Christ to forgive your sins! Do it before you draw your last breath. Your Creator loves you & wants you to be happy in heaven forever. And Jesus is the only Way!
Our Only Living Hope
1 Peter 1:3-5
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time
