Graceful Simplicity

I would like to wish all of my readers a very happy 2026

Today on Mothers Day….

Today which is Mothering Sunday here in The U.K. – can we take time to remember those who have lost their Mothers through tragedy and my prayers and thoughts are with those especially that have lost their own Mothers through illness and right now through the wars that are raging worldwide. Today may our hearts turn to those who are struggling with grief especially in Israel where there are Mothers who are being held hostage; children who are without their parents – may we continue to cry out to Elohim for the release of all hostages now like never before. May we pray that in the midst of the raging war that hearts will turn to The God who not only created each and every one of us but He is and will forever be The Author Of Our Lives.
Finally, this poem though this is in regards to my own memories of my Mother however, the title – A Love Stained With Tears is apt for so many people today………………..

Just  before I entered this world

The battle was on for your life or mine

Satan thought his plan was about to be unfirled

He thought that his plan was perfectly timed

From the start, this was a love stained with tears

However, his cunning plan completely overturned

We both made it through, all part of God’s ultimate plan

From the start however, hands would be burnt

Struggles and strife where heads would be buried in the sand

This was always a love stained with tears

A life full of hardship where finances were tight

You scrimped and saved making sure I lacked for nothing

Making sure I was looked after with all your might

But throughout your life you were constantly running

As a family, this was a love stained with tears

Struggling with epilepsy and continuous depression

Physical abuse you endured, your pain so obvious to me

Emotional  turmoil leaving unanswered questions

You carried on regardless yet still needing some release

This was after all, a love stained with tears

Looking back I don’t recall there being any laughter

Your mood often meloncholy; it was not often you smiled

I could see through your pain; it was acceptance you were after

Wearing your heart on your sleeve was definitely not your style

This was without a doubt, a love stained with tears

You somehow  got through life the best you could

Your struggles were hard; your pain so real

For you alone felt isolated, often you felt totally misunderstood

Throughout life there was lack of enthusiasm; you had no zeal

Again this was sadly a love stained with tears

Tempers would flare where life didn’t seem fair

You sufferered in silence, not knowing where to turn

Carrying on through life where you believed others didn’t care

Wanting to be loved, deep down this was something you yearned

This was a life of sadness; a love stained with tears

You tried your very best to take care of my needs

Though there were times I ran away from trials

But then you would treat life as if it were a breeze

I remember you climbing over so very many stiles

Even so,  this was a love stained with tears

Special memories include foods lovingly made from scratch

From casseroles to pies, cakes & scrumptious afternoon teas

Sewing and knitting our clothes where at times our outfits would match

I still recall Heidi our cat playing with the wool whilst you continued to weave

Even so, this was a love stained with tears

Christmas and birthdays were an absolute blast

You seemed happy and relaxed with no signs of stress

These memories that for me will forever remain steadfast

I also know deep down for me, you did your ultimate best

But still this was a love stained with tears

A love stained with tears was all I knew

When you died, I was saddened beyond belief

No matter how much I tried there was nothing I could do

To make our love better & I battled with grief

After all, sadly this was a love stained with tears

Alas I have to say I have no idea where you are now

Will I get to see you again, this is for me a huge question

How amazing this would be; so awesome and I would go wow

To see you again when I relocate to my eternal home which is heaven

My prayer is for this to no longer be a love stained with tears
