Christmas Devotionals 2024

As we start off this month of December with a devotional, I just want to add here that for so many, this month especially can be a very difficult season as well as a very lonely time. Folks are planning for Christmas which is a time of celebration in gathering together with loved ones near and far but also the whole point as well as the main focus for this month is to remember the birth of Jesus Christ. Though many of us know that December was not His actual month of birth, we do celebrate His Birth on December 25th. Jesus is truly the reason for this season. So, may the devotionals and other content throughout this month especially not only be of encouragement but also to help all of us to get through this particularly difficult season but may you also mayknow that you are not on your own. These devotionals will also be on the website too of which the link you will find in the comment section below: So this devotional is focusing on hope and is taken from:
devotionals
But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.
This was a good bible verse to kick off our devotions for this month. As many of you know our only hope is Jesus Christ. He is not only our Saviour but our Father, our best friend and therefore our hope is in Him and in Him alone. No matter what trials etc we are faced with in this Christmas season especially at the moment – we know with absolute certainty that He meaning Jesus will never ever fail us.
As stated in this bible verse God will renew our strength like the eagles and we will soar on wings of eagles meaning that because we are saved by grace through faith it is with this faith we are filled with such confidence in Jesus Christ alone that we have the strength to ride out any storms that are troubling us at any given time. I’m just going to repeat this because I think a lot of us need to hear this. So, as it states in the verse that I read God will renew our strength and we will soar on the wings of eagles. Which means because we are saved by grace through faith – it is with this faith we are filled with such confidence in Jesus Christ alone that we have the strength to ride out any storms that are troubling us at any given time. Jesus does not leave us when we go through any difficulties in our lives, but do we need to give all of our troubles, anxieties or any tough situations we are going through over to Jesus – so, do we do this? Do we honestly trust in Him?
As children of the Most High God, we need to remember that as we trust in Jesus Christ, He does renew our strength so, when challenges and setbacks do come and as we know these do happen – which is all part of life but notice the word but at the same time, we need to keep our eyes totally fixed on Jesus Christ and not on the stormy seas meaning our current circumstances.
When we handed our life over to Him and asked His Holy Spirit to dwell in us – another word by the way for The Holy Spirit is the word Comforter – which means He gives us comfort that no one else can give us in this life. No one else has the ability to help us through any trials that happen as I stated earlier. If we ask Him, He will help us to get through every situation though I will say also that this may not happen immediately. Also, Sometimes trials are sent to us for a reason which is to trust more and more in Him along with growing in Him through His Written Word and through talking to Him like you talk to a loving earthly parent or child or perhaps a close friend that you speak to every single day.
So, if you don’t know Jesus may you come to know the God of Hope – our only Hope during this month.
The month of December can be a difficult time for so many but remember the one whom you can have absolute hope in knowing that He gave us His Only Begotten Son Jesus Christ so that you and I might have everlasting life.
May you be blessed and encouraged and remember that our only Hope is none other but Jesus Christ dear friend.
